What is NVC with the body? There are various ways of sharing Marshall Rosenberg's Nonviolent Communication that bring more consciousness of the physical.
These are the ways/people we are aware of: Marshall himself recommended Eugene Gendlin's focusing for helping to connect mind and body. Inbal Kashtan began using the name Body NVC and developed a specific exercise in 1997. With Miki Kashtan she has also developed a range of body-based exercises which are friendly to people who don't often dance. Sabine Geiger studied with Inbal and has developed a range of exercises and a full approach under the name Body NVC. Mark Walsh and Paul Linden bring an embodied approach to NVC, which has evolved from the nonviolent Japanese training, Aikido. Mark's YouTube channel (Integration Training) is well worth checking out. For beginners, it's especially useful for dealing with stress in the moment. Ray Taylor brings a physical touch emphasis from co-counselling, and has studied with Sabine, Miki and Mark. He is working on making physical approaches to introducing NVC widely available, and is in contact with most of the above. Please let us know if you are aware of others via the contact form. |
